Build DiarySunday 25th April, 2004Just when I thought I'd have a weekend of nothing remotely Locost to do, I remembered reading a post on the Locost Builders forum outlining the difficulties associated with disposing of your donor. The post highlighted the need to remove any identifying marks, e.g. registration plates, tax disks and VIN plates, before disposing of the car. Failure to do so could ruin you chances of getting an age related plate based on that vehicle. Therefore, the day was spent removing all traces. This meant the remaining VIN plate and all the windows had to go, each having the registration number etched into the glass. I could have done without the hassle, but am glad it's been done. Hopefully the donor will be going next Saturday.![]() As a result of another string of posts that I found on Locost Builders, I think I will be sticking with the book chassis. There seem to be plenty of others out there who are the same height as myself and manage to squeeze in quite comfortably. Just to go on about it a little more, Locost builders that is, I have decided to modify my Sierra pedal box as opposed to fabricating an entirely new floor mounted box. Instructions on how to do this can be found at http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid=9647. See the post from Mark Allanson. << BACK |
